The families from Chhayanat Rara Municipality-11 in the district, who were displaced by the landslide that occurred last September, are afflicted with cold now. They have been staying in a forest under a tent roof.

Sher Singh Bhargi, one among the landslide affected and displaced families, said, "We were displaced after our houses were buried by the landslide. We are now forced to stay under a tent and brave the cold."

Living with a family under a tent is quite strenuous. The people from Jhayari, Shigadi, Ghuir, Tallo Salimal villages were displaced by the landslide. They complained that the government did not pay heed to them for their rehabilitation. "We fear that we will be sick with a chill. It is challenging to save children," Balikanya Bohara said, wailing, "We don't have warm clothes. There is no assistance from any side."

Sixty-two families from Salim are most affected ones in the cold. They are bound to manage the family under tarpaulin sheets after the landslide displaced them. They have been suffering from various health problems including eyesore, stomach ache and headache.

The school going children are deprived of education.

The landslide that occurred last September had taken the lives of eight persons at Salima village.

Lately, the people's representative elected for federal parliament, Ain Bahadur Shahi, and for Province Assembly, Jit Bahadur Malla, have however vowed to take initiatives to address the misery facing the landslide displaced ones.
