MCC is positive for democracy and national interest: Bhattarai

Chairman of the Federal Council of the Janata Samajwadi Party, Dr Baburam Bhattarai, said that the presentation of the MCC proposal in the Parliament was positive for Nepali democracy and national interest. He also said on Twitter that it should be decided in a democratic manner through open discussion in the parliament.

"The presentation of the MCC resolution in the parliament, the highest body exercising the sovereignty of the people, is positive for Nepali democracy and national interest," he said.

He also stressed the need to take decisions based on facts and whatever is in the national interest, and not under pressure from parties, factional demands and power centers. Minister for Communications Gyanendra Bahadur Karki had set the MCC table in the House of Representatives meeting on Sunday.
