The 11 amendment of Police Rules 2071 and the second amendment of Armed Police Force Act 2072 have been proposed for Nepal Police and Armed Police personnel to get pension within 16 years.

The proposal was approved by Home Minister Bal Krishna Khan and sent to the Finance Ministry for approval. After reaching an agreement with the Ministry of Finance and Law, the Ministry of Home Affairs will submit it to the Council of Ministers for decision.

Prior to this, there was no provision for receiving pension till the completion of 20 years of service. If the regulations are amended, the lower level police personnel can retire within 16 years.
