Nepal reports 553 new COVID cases

The Ministry of Health and Population (MoHP) on Sunday confirmed the detection of 553 new cases of coronavirus infection. Out of which, 102 people have tested positive for SARS-CoV-2 in the antigen test. With this, the total positive COVID count has reached 144,509 (Antigen).

Likewise, the MoHP has recorded 0 death from COVID-19 in the past 24 hours. The ministry on May 19, 2021, recorded 184 deaths, the highest daily number. As of Sunday, the nationwide death toll from COVID has reached 11,971. Presently, there are 5659 active cases in Nepal.

Meanwhile, 433 patients of COVID-19 have recovered in the past 24 hours. As of Sunday, a total of 972,064 people have recovered from the viral disease, the data released by the MoHP showed. Presently, the recovery rate stands at 98.2 percent while the fatality rate is 1.2 percent.
