DoTM introduces new rules for Driving License exam

The application form for a driving license has opened after 6 months. The applications had stopped on 29 April due to the coronavirus pandemic. The application has started yesterday night.

The spokesperson of the Department of Transport Management, Loknath Bhusal informed that the application has opened from Monday night and can be filled regularly. The applictaion had stopped due to COVID-19 and a lot of new drivers were facing problems. A daily quota has been set by the offices.

The new applicants will be following the point system introduced by the transportation department. The written exams will have 25 questions with 4 marks each with a full mark of 100. According to the new rule, 60 marks will be the passing marks in the written exams. In accordance with the new directory, the department has made 500 objective questions public, the written exams will be taken based on these questions.

In the trial system to new arrangements have been made. In the old system, one mistake during the trial failed the driver, but in the new system, trial will be conducted at different levels and will be based in point system. 70 points is a minimum to pass the practical trial.
