NRNA and IOM signs MoU for collective actions in multiple fields

The Non-Resident Nepali Association (NRNA) and the International Organisation for Migration (IOM) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) for mutual cooperation in several areas.

NRNA President Kumar Pant and Vice President Dr Badri KC signed on the MoU on behalf of the association. The MoU includes voluntary repatriation of Nepali workers from foreign employment, sustainable reintegration programme for them and cooperation for economic and human development including safe migration.

Similarly, they have agreed to act together in the areas of self-employment, capacity building, entrepreneurship issues and so on for Nepali workers returning home from various destination countries affected by COVID-19, as well as to collaborate with the Government of Nepal in achieving various national and international policies and goals related to migration.

Following the understanding, the two parties will expand their working relationship in various fields to achieve common objectives. Similarly, the NRNA has stated that it would move ahead by cooperating and facilitating the overall development of the diaspora as well as acting together with government bodies for the promotion of safe migration and economic development.
