Opposition seeks effective relief and rescue measures

The opposition parties have urged the government to adopt effective and efficient relief and rescue measures for people who have been affected by the floods and landslides across the country. They have also urged their party members and other organisations to provide help those who have been affected.

A joint statement was issued by Nepali Congress President Sher Bahadur Deuba, CPN (Maoist Centre) Chairperson Pushpa Kamal Dahal (Prachanda), senior leader of CPN UML Madhav Kumar Nepal and Durga Poudel of Rastriya Janamorcha urging the government to do the needful. They have also asked the government to provide food and shelter to those who have been affected by the floods and landslides.

The statement adds that the government should mobilise all authorities and resources to provide immediate relief in a transparent manner for people who have been affected across the country.
