Permission to detain Former HM Khand for three days

The Kathmandu District Court has allowed the police to detain and investigate former Home Minister Balkrishna Khand and his personal secretary Narendra KC for three days.

Today, he was arrested by the police after he was involved in the case of fraud of crores of rupees by pretending to be a fake refugee and sending thim to America. Along with him, his personal secretary Narendra KC was also arrested by the police.

So far, the police have arrested 12 people in the incident and are continuing the investigation. Earlier yesterday, Ramsharan KC and Govind Chaudhary were arrested by the police.

Before that, the police had arrested Indrajit Rai, security advisor of the then Home Minister Ram Bahadur Thapa, along with then Home Secretary Teknarayan Pandey, Sandeep Rayamajhi, Keshav Dulal, Sanu Bhandari, Tank Gurung, Sandesh Sharma Pokharel and Sagar Thulung.

Secretary Pandey is currently suspended.

Police are searching for CPN (UML) secretary and former minister Top Bahadur Rayamajhi, who was involved in the incident. UML has suspended him as secretary today. So far, one hundred and six people have filed 20 complaints in the incident. They have reported that a total of 23 crore 25 lakh has been defrauded.
