Farmers of Jajarkot, Rukum West and Dolpa are facing problems due to lack of rain. Due to lack of irrigation facilities, farmers who have been cultivating maize all over the country have not been able to plant maize.

Due to the hilly terrain and sloping terrain, it is difficult to irrigate with canal water. Sher Bahadur Khatri of Nalgad-8 said that irrigation could not be done due to lack of pipes.

Failure to plant maize in April leads to severe decline in production. According to Khatri, 70% of the farmers' fields have become barren even after the locals planted maize with irrigation. Similarly, the work has been affected due to lack of water even though it is time to plant paddy in the field. With two days to go before the local elections, there are extensive preparations for the elections. But farmers are worried as their fields are barren due to lack of water. Farmers affected by the hailstorm were preparing to plant maize this season. He said that due to lack of rain, the land was barren and the livestock could not graze.
