Former Prime Minister and leader of Janata Samajbadi Party-Nepal (JSP), Baburam Bhattarai, has said that the royal massacre has to be properly investigated in a tweet. He has tweeted that an investigation committee should be set up based on national consensus for the purpose.

Bhattarai further wrote that the truth behind late king Birendra Shah and his family has still not been established and the blame game that has been going on since then is an affront to the democratic and republicanism principles of the country.

He said that it has been 20 years already since the royal massacre and it is time now to find the truth behind the incident and give a closure to it.
