Two arrested for illegally trafficking wildlife

A team of Nepal Police personnel arrested two persons in possession of wild animals including tortoises.

The team deputed from Police Station Koteswor held Raj Deula, 25, and Rahul Deula, 20, who has been residing in Kirtipur municipality-9, with 10 tortoises on Sunday evening.

A spokesperson at District Police Range Kathmandu Dinesh Raj Mainali informed that the police team arrested both from a café at Kathmandu metropolis-32, Koteswor on the charge of being involved in the illegal trafficking of wildlife.

Police recovered 10 tortoises, three sets of mobiles and a motorbike (Ba 99 Pa 4944) from the smugglers.

Mainali further shared that the Koteswor police station is carrying out an investigation into the incident.
