Yarsagumba being collected without permission

Locals are collecting Yarsagumba in Dudhiwan, Apiphed, Satganga Chimetala and other areas without permission.

Every year, the Apinampa Conservation Area Office gives permission for the collection of Yarsagumba from the second week of May. Narendra Singh Dhami of Beas Gaonpalika-2 said that the collectors have reached the collection area in the second week of April this year. The Api Nampa Conservation Area Office has made it mandatory to obtain permission for the collection of valuable herbs Yarsagumba.

The office has issued a public notice stating that it is not allowed to collect without a permit. Chief Conservation Officer Ganesh Poudel said that the distribution of licenses for the collection of Yarsagumba has been started from April 28. Licenses are being distributed from Apinampa Conservation Area Office Khalanga, Rapla Sector Office Sunsera, Khandeshwari Sector Khandeshwari, Bitule Range Post, Khar Range Post, Sipti Post, Paribagad Post and Hikila Post.

According to the office, the collection will be available from the second week of May. Yarsagumba collectors inside the conservation area have to pay Rs. 500 per person, those outside the conservation area have to pay Rs. 2,000 and those outside the district have to pay Rs. 3,000 to get an identity card. According to the office, Yarsagumba will be confiscated and action will be taken according to the law if it is collected without permission. Yarsagumba is found in the area of ​​Darchula's diameter of Apifed, Dudhivan, Apihimal's Chimetla, Satganga, Lolu, Rokhapu, Dharamghar and other areas. Yarsagumba is exported from the district at the rate of 5 to 7 quintals annually.
