Meeting of ruling coalition ends

The leaders of ruling coalition attend a meeting at Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba's official residence in Baluwatar, Kathmandu.

The meeting of the ruling coalition is over. The all-party meeting started after the meeting of the ruling coalition Nepali Congress, CPN-Maoist Center, CPN-Unified Socialist, Janata Samajwadi Party and Rastriya Janamorcha at the PM's residence in Baluwatar.

Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba convened an all-party meeting today to discuss ways to open the parliament and ratify the agreement on the US aid project Millennium Challenge Corporation (MCC). Minister for Communications and Information Technology Gyanendra Bahadur Karki informed that the issue of MCC was discussed in the ruling coalition in Baluwatar before the all-party meeting.

Among the parties in the ruling coalition, the Nepali Congress is in favor of passing the MCC agreement, while the parties including the CPN-Maoist Center and the Unified Socialist Center are in favor of amending the agreement.

The main opposition party CPN-UML has stated that it will not attend the all-party meeting. Apart from UML, leaders of other parties in the House of Representatives will also participate in the meeting.
