Various networks related to children have suggested to the CPN (UML) today about the issues related to children in the manifesto to be issued by the party for the upcoming local elections.

The suggestion was given to Ishwor Pokharel, senior vice-chairman of the party and coordinator of the manifesto preparation committee at the party's central office in Thapathali today. Handing over the letter of recommendation, rights activist Dr Krishna Subedi said that the implementation of child rights, protection, child-friendly policy and budget and a child-friendly governance system should be done at every local level even though most of the issues included in the last election were included in the UML.

Rights activist Tarak Dhital said that the rights of children included in the fundamental rights of the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child, Nepal should be given high priority at the local level. On the occasion, Senior Vice President Pokharel said that a policy declaration would be issued from the center and a concrete commitment letter would be issued from the local level.
