The Standing Committee and Parliamentary Party meeting of CPN UML has been scheduled for today.

The Communist Party of Nepal (UML) has demanded the formation of a 'Parliamentary Investigation Committee' to probe the incident at Byas Gaonpalika-2 Malghat in Darchula district.

It is reported that the locals went missing after falling into the Jaisingh Dhami River on July 31 after being cut off by the Indian SSB while crossing the Mahakali River at Malghat in Darchula.

Speaker Agni Prasad Sapkota had given time to UML MP Ganesh Singh Thagunna to speak at the beginning of today's meeting of the Federal Parliament, House of Representatives. UML has also demanded that a formal protest be registered with India over the incident, action be taken against the Indian SSB guilty of the incident and compensation be provided to the relatives of the deceased.

MP Thagunna said that there was no hearing even when the relatives lodged a FIR at the Indian police station, but accused the Nepali government of trying to cover up the incident.
