Govinda Prasad Rimal, a veteran footballer and presently head coach for a C-Division football club, says that the FC teams have been deprived of proper training since there are not enough grounds and space for training.
Rimal, head coach for Manamaiju Football Club (MFC), says, “Due to the lack of proper grounds, as many as six different C-Division teams take turns to do training at Bhootkhel, Tokha.” Each team has its own schedule for training, and the training for the MFC starts at 12:00 pm till 2:00 pm daily.”
The head coach for MFC, Rimal, is engaged in developing Nepal’s football by training young players and preparing them physically, mentally and tactically. He says, “It’s been 15 days we have been doing training sessions, and also selecting potentials players coming from different parts of the country,” and adds, “The participation of young players in the sport shows the enthusiasm for football in Nepal.”
According to Rimal, the All Nepal Football Association (ANFA), the governing body of football, has scheduled to hold the C-Division League football tournament from August 26. Previously, the tournament was set to kick off on August 17 but was postponed.
Rimal has played as a defender for Gyanbhairab Club in 2067- B-division league; Oasis Club in 2070- C-division; Bhagwati Club in 2074 C- division and Tokha Bhagwati Club in 2075 B-division. He was also a coach for Oasis Club before joining MFC.
He has been coaching the C-division football clubs for the past two years.
