CWCL2: Nepal wins toss against PNG, to field first

Nepal won the toss in the match against Papua New Guinea in the triangular one-day series of the ICC Cricket World Cup League 2.

Nepal's captain Rohit Paudel has won the toss and decided to field first in the toss held at the Trivi Cricket Ground in Kirtipur. With this, now Papua New Guinea will bat first.

One player has changed in the Nepali team today. Gulshan Jha, who is in the Nepali team, has been kept on the bench and Karan KC is included in his place.

Nepal defeated UAE by 177 runs in yesterday's match and secured one-day recognition for the next four years.

Nepal defeated Papua New Guinea in the first match at the same home ground. Earlier, in the tour of UAE, Nepal defeated Papua New Guinea in both matches.

In today's match as well, Nepal wants to ensure victory by defeating Papua New Guinea. Nepal is in fourth place with 36 points in 34 matches. If they win the remaining two matches, Nepal will secure third place and secure their trip to the World Cup qualifiers.

Third place Namibia has 39 points from 36 matches.

The sixth-placed UAE has 31 points in 34 matches, while seventh-placed Papua New Guinea has 11 points in the same match. Scotland, which is in the top position with 50 points, and Oman, which is in the second position with 44 points, have already decided their journey to the World Cup qualifiers.

Nepal's playing-11 includes captain Rohit Paudel, Asif Sheikh, Sandeep Lamichhane, Kushal Bhurtel, Bhim Sarki, Arif Sheikh, Dipendra Singh Airi, Karan KC, Kushal Malla, Sompal Kami, Lalit Narayan Rajvanshi.
