World Cup Cricket League Two: Nepal lost to Namibia

In the ICC Men's World Cup League two triangular ODI series, Nepal has again lost to Namibia. Nepal lost to Namibia by 63 runs in last night's match at Combsdun New Ground, Ayr, Scotland. In the first match of the ongoing series, Nepal lost to Namibia by 40 runs.

Namibia had given a target of 200 runs to Nepal for victory. In reply, Nepal lost all wickets in 37.5 overs and was reduced to 136 runs. Dipendra Singh Airi scored the highest 38 runs for Nepal. Similarly, Asif Sheikh scored 34 runs while Adil Alam scored 20 runs. Rohit Poudel remained unbeaten on 17 runs and Pawan Sarraf on 10 runs. Arif Sheikh scored four runs and Dev Khanal and Sompal Kami added one run each, while Kushal Bhurtel, captain Sandeep Lamichhane and Basir Ahmed failed to open the account.


Bernard Scholtz of Namibia took five wickets and Jan Frylink took three wickets. Before that, Namibia, who won the toss and batted first, scored 199 runs losing all wickets in 49.2 overs. Captain Jehard Erasmus contributed the most 53 runs for Namibia. Similarly, David VS added 34 runs while JJ Smith and Divan La Cocke added 27 runs. Jan Nicol and Ruben Trumpelman scored 19 runs apiece.


Nepal's captain Sandeep Lamichhane took four wickets while Sompal Kami and Dipendra Singh Airi took two wickets each. Basir Ahmed took one wicket. Nepal will play the last match of the series against Scotland today. In the previous match, Nepal defeated Scotland by five wickets.


Likewise, with this defeat, the points of Nepal League Two have fallen to sixth place in the table. Nepal has scored 17 points in 19 matches. Namibia has climbed to fifth place with 18 points from 18 matches.
