Footfall increases on Mt. Manaslu

Spring season is considered to be the best season for mountain climbers in Nepal. In spring, many climbers from different countries come to Nepal to climb the mountains. But even in autumn there are climbing activities in some mountains of Nepal.

Nepali climber Kamirita Sherpa, who has successfully climbed Mt. Everest 26 times, is currently on an expedition to climb Mt. Manaslu, which is considered the eighth highest mountain in the world. Last spring alone, he reached the peak of Mount Everest 26 times and set a new world record. After the success of Everest, he said in a conversation with NepalNews that his climbing gerney will continue.

Accordingly, Kamirita is climbing the Manaslu in this autumn. Manaslu is not new mountain for him. He has climbed this mountain many times. Kamirita is leading the climbing team of 8 thousand 163 meters high Manaslu.

Now other record holder climbers have also gone to climb Manaslu. Ngima Nuru Sherpa, who has climbed Mount Everest 24 times, Funuru Sherpa, who has climbed Everest 19 times, was very happy to meet world record climber Kamirita during the Manaslu climb. They also had lunch together at a local restaurant in Gorkha.

Sanu Sherpa, another world record holder, is currently climbing Manaslu mountain.

Not long ago, he set a world record by climbing 14 mountains with a height of more than 8,000 meters in the world twice. He is climbing Manaslu for the second time this year.

Manaslu was first climbed by Toshio Imanishi and Galzen Norbu, members of the Japanese climbing team.

It belongs to Gorkha district. This mountain is about 64 km east of Annapurna.


Manaslu trek is also considered popular. It is 177 km long. In 1991, the Nepal government gave permission to walk this circuit.

The highest number of climbers who want to climb the mountain this autumn has been seen in the Manaslu Mountain. According to the Ministry of Tourism, 29 climbing teams have received permission to climb Manaslu Mountain so far. Some of the teams have already started climbing. 337 people including 255 men and 82 women have received permission to climb Manaslu.

This autumn, 36 teams are climbing a total of 7 mountains. There are a total of 364 climbers in that team.

Climbers prefer spring season to climb Mount Everest. But even in autumn, a climbing team is climbing Everest. In other mountains, this time there are 2 teams in Himalung. Similarly, one team is trying to climb Dhawalagiri, Kumbhakarna, Nupse and Saribung.

This year climbers from 50 different countries are climbing different mountains. Out of which the most are 47 people from America. Similarly, there are 27 climbers from India, 22 from Iran, and 20 from Spain. This year climbers have also come from Gulf countries like United Arab Emirates and Kuwait. This year there are 8 climbers from Japan, where many climbers have come in the past. There is only 1 male climber from Bangladesh.

There are one female climber each from Costa Rica, Denmark, Ecuador, Estonia, Iraq, Kuwait, Norway, Portugal, Macedonia, Swaziland, Thailand and Vietnam.

By giving permission to various climbing teams to climb the mountains, the government of Nepal has collected about 43.33 million 12 thousand rupees in revenue so far.
