Gautam Buddha International Airport will have 72 flights daily. According to the Civil Aviation Authority of Nepal, the airport has a daily flight capacity up to 72.

According to Deo Chandra Lal Karn, Director of Tribhuvan International Airport, the new international airport has parking capacity for a total of four international planes and has the capacity to carry up to 72 planes daily. They are also preparing to launch a test flight from Widebody 330 of Nepal Airlines. He informed that the airport will operate 18-hours daily.

In order to make the operation of the new airport more convenient, they have sent a proposal to the ministry to provide free parking fee for six months, said spokesperson Karn.

Jazeera Airways has already sent a letter to the Ministry of Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation to operate one flight a week at the Gautam Buddha Airport, while other airlines are also willing to fly, the authority said. Yeti, Buddha and Shree Airlines, which have been allowed to operate international flights from Nepal, Himalayan Airlines and other international flights, have also started preparations for flights.

The authorities are confident that the pressure at Tribhuvan International Airport will be reduced as soon as international flights are operated from the airport.
