Daya Foundation has launched a cultural video contest – newari edition celebrating newari culture, heritage, tradition and values for the youths of all abilities capturing the cultural roots and heritage through their own lenses. The event was inaugurated by Honorable Minister of Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation Jeevan Ram Shrestha.
The contest launched on the auspicious occasion of Indra Jatra seeks a video based on the mentioned topics of up to 3-minutes in length. The first round of selection through Zoom meeting will begin on Saturday, 15th Ashwin, 2079 at 6 pm and the selected participants in the first round should send their videos by 16th Poush, 2079 to [email protected]. The winner will be announced on 1st Magh, 2079.
Minister of Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation Jeevan Ram Shrestha, Mr. Rajesh Bahadur Pradhan Chairman of Daya Foundation, Ambassador of Egypt to Nepal Her Excellency Noha Hamdy Ahmed Elgebaly, Dr Palwasa Heider First Lady Pakistani Embassy, and Dr Sabeena Bhattarai, Mr. Nhuchche Kaji Maharjan Chairman of Ward No. 18 Kathmandu Metropolitan City, Mr. Chini Kaji Maharjan Chairman of Ward No. 22 Kathmandu Metropolitan City, and the representatives of various renowned institutions were present at the event.
Minister Shrestha emphasized such program affirms our identity and creates a comprehensive framework for the preservation and promotion of our tradition and culture and this type of innovative program should be organized in the future as well. He also congratulated Daya Foundation for initiating such a commendable opportunity for the youth.
