Incredible place of west Nepal: Butwal

Butwal is a sub-metropolitan city and the urban core of a rapidly growing urban agglomeration in Nepal. It is situated in Western Development Region, Lumbini Zone in Rupandehi District and is the administrative headquarter for Lumbini Zone.

Geographically, Butwal is at the intersection of Nepal's two different National Highways, Mahendra Highway and Siddhartha Highway. It connects western Nepal with the capital Kathmandu through the highway and air links (via the airport at Siddharthanagar). It is one of the fastest-growing cities in Nepal for education, infrastructure, highway, marketing, health and safety, communication, trade, and banking sectors. It has highway connections to the Indian border at Sunauli and to the hilly towns in Tansen and Pokhara valley, and holds the title of being "The Best City in Nepal" five times in a row. Butwal was officially declared as a sub-metropolitan city on 2 December 2014 by combining two neighboring VDCs Motipur and Semlar.

Economically ,Butwal is an upcoming link city for the nearby tourist spots ,The economy of Butwal centers around trade, services and tourism. We can find the most historical and fascinating religious site of Nepal situated here. Thus, Devdaha, Jitgadhi , Murgiya Jharbaira , Siddha Baba Temple ,  famous places of interest for tourist still not recognize exceedingly. 

Except all these places , there  are many other places which Nepal needs to focus on and develop to procreate it as a tourist spot:

Gajedi Taal : Gajedi Taal Rupandehi’s Kanchan village municipality ward no. Lake Danapur, positioned at 1, is becoming a center of water tourism. Danapur, an enchanting natural lake in Rupandehi district. The physical structure built in this lake complex, which is full of attractive topography and beautiful natural beauty, also makes the lake look very magnetic. The lake is in the area of Samaymai Forest Users Group. Chairman of the Forest Users Group, Min Bahadur Thapa, informed that local people are crowding in the sheds of the picnic sites built on the banks of the river every day. It is expected that the festival to be held in the lake complex, which is also available for boat sharing, will further help in the promotion of tourism.

Banbatika Forest Resort : Shankar Nagar Ban Bihar and Research Centre, simply referred as Ban Batika by locals is a popular attraction in Tilottama Municipality. The Centre is maintained inside Shankarnagar Community Forest. It is popular for its picnic spots, zoo and garden.

Muktidham, Nayagoan : The newly established religious placed constructed on the outskirt of city at Nayagoan, gives a feeling of the Vintage Temple of Muktinath at Mustang.

Sainamaina : It is located on hills at the border of Butwal Municipality. Devotees believe that Siddha Baba will grant their wishes and offer pigeons at the temple. On Saturdays, the weekly holiday in Nepal, large numbers of devotees visit this temple and special Microbus services are offered.

Aap Khola (mango river): During droughts, people flock to this river to swim and gather water. The adjacent Manakamana Temple may be seen from here.
