Nepali women climber creates new history

Nepali female climber Purnima Shrestha has become the fastest woman to complete seven 8,000 peaks in Nepal. She successfully climbed Makalu Mountain (8463 m) on Friday, May 27, 2022. She climbed the world's fifth highest mountain at 10:50 am, according to the 8K Expedition, and has become the first woman to cross seven 8,000 peaks in Nepal.

She has climbed Manaslu, Everest, Annapurna, Dhaulagiri, Kanchenjunga, and Lhotse Mountains.

Climber Shrestha, who is also a photojournalist by profession, has worked for various daily newspapers. A photo exhibition of her has also been organized.
