New record by mountaineer Sanu Sherpa

Nepali mountaineer Sanu Sherpa has managed to set a new record in the history of mountain climbing.

A 47-year-old Sherpa from Sankhuwasabha Makalu village has managed to climb all the 14 mountains of 8000 meters in the world for the second time. According to Summit Karakoram that he completed his mission double by climbing the Gasherbrum II Mountain today at 8:18 am.

Gasherbrum II is the 13th highest mountain in the world at 8,035 meters (26,362 ft.) above sea level. It is the third-highest peak of the Gasherbrum massif and is located in Karakoram, on the border between Gilgit-Baltistan, Pakistan and Xinjiang, China. The mountain was first climbed on July 7, 1956, by an Austrian expedition which included Fritz Moravec, Josef Larch, and Hans Willenpart.

Earlier, Climber Sanu Sherpa climbed Mount Everest, the highest peak in the world, 7 times. Similarly, Annapurna I, Dhaulagiri, K2, Nanga Parvat, Broad Peak and Gasherbrum1 were climbed twice. He climbed Gasherbrum 2 times.
