A direct flight from Pokhara to Janakpur has started today. Buddha Air has started flying three days a week. The Pokhara-Janakpur flight will be operated every Saturday, Monday and Wednesday, said Gautam Baral, Pokhara-based station manager.

In the first phase, Buddha plans to operate daily three days a week and if the number of passengers increases, he said, "Currently, we have started flying from an 18-seat capacity ship."

A team including Gandaki Chief Minister Krishnachandra Nepali Pokhrel has left for Janakpur today on the first flight. The maximum fare for a 50-minute Pokhara-Janakpur flight is Rs 9,360 per passenger and the lowest is Rs 4,100. Participating in the first flight, Gandaki Chief Minister Pokharel expressed confidence that the inter-state air network would help in the promotion of tourism. A team including the Chief Minister has left for Janakpur for a three-day visit at the invitation of Madhesh Chief Minister Lal Babu Raut. A team led by Madhes Chief Minister Raut had visited Pokhara on September 22 at the invitation of Gandaki Chief Minister Pokharel.
