Portuguese climber Pedro Queiros has become the first foreign climber to reach the summit of Mount Everest this season.

He stayed for 12 days at Camps 2 and 3 which are at an altitude of 6500 to 7200 meters. He said on social media that he needed to recover and rest and was now safely at the base camp.

After reaching the summit of Mount Everest, he became the sixth Portuguese citizen to achieve such a feat.

Queiros also has a deep interest in social work.

In 2017, he traveled 1,200 kilometers alone from the Taj Mahal in India to Kathmandu in Nepal. At that time, he had collected 17,000 euros in an effort to support the less fortunate people of Nepal..

João José Silva Abranches Garcia was the first Portuguese citizen to climb Mt. Everest. He became the first Portuguese person to reach the summit of Mount Everest on May 18, 1999. More impressively, he did so without the use of supplemental oxygen.
