Speaker Devraj Ghimire and Deputy Speaker Indira Ranamagar have congratulated Hari Budhamagar, a double amputee who successfully scaled Sagarmatha (Mt Everest). He scaled the world's highest peak on May 19.

The Speaker and the Deputy Speaker welcomed Budhamagar at the Speaker's official residence at Baluwatar today and commended him for making Nepal and Nepalis known across the world through his mountaineering feat.

"You are known the world over in the list of inspiring persons. The story of your motivation should reach every child. Nepalis will continue to be proud of you," Speaker Ghimire said.

Deputy Speaker Rana praised Budhamagar as 'super human' and encouraged him to continue his journey in the coming days as well.

On the occasion, Speaker Ghimire handed over a commendation letter to Budhamagar. The Speaker, through the commendation letter, expressed the belief that the world record that Budhamagar has set by climbing Sagarmatha, the world's highest peak, with the help of prosthetic legs even after losing both legs in the war zone would remain for ages as a motivation for Nepalis and those in the mountaineering field.

A resident of Mirul, Thawang in Rolpa district, Budhamagar lost both his legs during the war in Afghanistan while serving in the British Army in 2010.
