The Gopal Prasad Pokharel-led Group has announced candidacy in different positions in view of the 8th general convention of Nepal Civil Service Employees Union.
Pokharel, a resident of Khotang, who is the incumbent chairperson of the union has announced candidacy for leadership for the second term.
Among other candidates from Pokharel Group are Uttam Katuwal for Senior Vice-chairperson, Durga Phuyal for General Secretary, and Yagya Wali for Vice-Chairperson.
Candidates vying for the post of province vice-chairperson from the group are Man Bahadur Ban (Province-1), Rajkishor Raut (Madhes Province), Deepakraj Mishra (Bagmati Province), Deepak Regmi (Gandaki Province), Madan Gautam (Lumbini Province), Chandra Bahadur Khadka (Karnali Province) and Chetraj Joshi (Sudurpaschim Province).
According to Deputy General Secretary Durga Phuyal, candidates for the posts of secretary and member are yet to be finalized.
The Nepal Civil Service Employees Union is holding its general convention in Kathmandu on March 5-7 for electing new leadership.
