More than 4,000 American volunteers have worked in Nepal for 60 years.
According to the American Embassy in Kathmandu, American volunteers have been working in Nepal since 1962.
"This month, Peace Corps-Nepal is celebrating the 60th anniversary of the arrival of the first group of Peace Corps volunteers in Kathmandu," according to a statement issued by the US Embassy today.
For the first time, more than 70 American volunteers arrived in Kathmandu in September 1962.
