President Bidya Devi Bhandari on Thursday inaugurated the 7th edition of ‘Birat Expo and Industrial Trade Fair' in the premises of Degree College, Biratnagar.
On the occasion, President Bhandari said that such events like expo help contribute to national economy through industrial development. The President also hoped that the fair would establish interrelations between the consumers and producers while contributing to market expansion of the productions.
The expo is not only a platform to sale and purchase the productions but also a sharing of experience and learning among the entrepreneurs and business persons. “I am confident that the expo would help ensure special contribution in the promotion of agricultural, handicrafts and industrial productions as well as the touristic destinations of this region,” she expressed.
The President alsow drew the attention of the government to identify and resolve the issues surfaced in the industrial sector.
Likewise, Chief of Province No. 1 Parshuram Khapung said the Morang Industries Association has played constructive and praiseworthy roles for the expansion of industrial sector by organizing such events.
Similarly, Chief Minister of Province No. 1 Rajendra Kumar Rai argued that economy cannot be made vibrant without active roles of the private sector.
Mayor of Biratnagar Metropolitan City Nagesh Koirala, President of Federation of Nepalese Chamber of Commerce and Industry (FNCCI) Shekhar Golchha and other industrialists expressed their views at the event.
A total of 361 stalls of domestic and foreign goods are kept in the expo, the organizer said.
