The educational fair (Edufair) hosted by the Higher Secondary Schools Association of Nepal (HISSAN) is going to resume following an interim order of the High Court, Patan.

It may be noted that the four-day Edufair had been shut down on the first day by the Kathmandu Metropolitan City on June 15. The fair was deemed illegal by KMC Mayor Balendra Shah and thus asked the municipal police to shut it down.

Along with the interim order of Wednesday, the fair will resume from tomorrow i.e. June 23 to 25, said President of HISSAN, Ramesh Silwal at a press conference held today at the fair venue Bhrikutimandap.

He argued that the fair would be helpful in providing detailed information about the educational institutions of Nepal, thereby discouraging students from going abroad for the same. In response to a question, Silwal insisted that none of the colleges had taken admission or fees on the first day of the fair.

According to HISSAN, approval has been obtained from the Ministry of Education, Science, and Technology for the fair.

More than 75 academic institutions including Kathmandu University, Pokhara University, Purbanchal University, Midwestern University, and Centre for Technical Education and Vocational Training will participate in the fair expected to be visited by more than two hundred thousand people.
