CPN (UML) General Secretary Shankar Pokharel, who is visiting China at the invitation of Chinese Communist Party (CPC), and Chinese Communist Party Politburo member Yuan Jiajun have met.
Jiajun, who is also the secretary of China's largest metropolis, Chongqing City Committee, and General Secretary Pokharel had a meeting in Chongqing.
During the meeting, Politburo member Jiajun said that the relationship between Nepal and China is old and close.
He expressed happiness that Nepal is firm and committed to one China. He said, 'We are happy that Nepal rejected the anti-China activities.'
He mentioned that Chongqing is the center for poverty alleviation in South Asia and said that he is ready to help in agriculture, tourism and industry for the prosperity of Nepal.
Stating that Chongqing is famous for rice production, he said that he is ready to support the knowledge and technology of Chongqing for the modernization of Nepal's agriculture. He said that Chongqing will provide scholarships and experience and observation opportunities to those who study agriculture at the University of Chongqing.
