Premiere of movie "Blue Flower"

Deputy Chief of Mission of the U.S Embassy to Nepal Jason Meeks attended the premiere of the movie, Blue Flower, to show solidarity with efforts to tackle forced marriage in Nepal. 

The movie tells the story of a gay Nepali man who is forced into marriage with a woman and his struggle to silence criticism from family and an unforgiving society for the couple’s inability to bear a child. The movie provides a way to talk about the difficult problems gender and sexual minority communities face in Nepal.

The director of the movie is Sunil Babu Pant.
