The second edition of Nepal International Theater Festival 2022 is to be held under the theme of 'Theater for Social Transformation: A Celebration of Diversity'.
The first edition was held in 2019 and could not be held for the next two years due to various reasons including COVID-19. The second edition will be held at Mandala Theater from October 25 to November 3, 2022.
Dayahang Rai, the founding president of Mandala Theater, shared at a press conference here today that the festival is being organized to boost the culture of watching drama.
Rai said that the festival is also being organized to fulfill the obligation of passing on the tradition of drama from the old generation to the new generation.
Coordinator of the festival Bijaya Karki shared that 16 countries will participate in the nine-day festival and 23 plays will be staged. Along with performances it will also include interaction with artists, open discussion, seminar and other activities.
