The
Kathmandu Metropolitan Corporation is preparing to place a 35 feet high national flag at
Basantapur Dabli while UNESCO is warning to put it on the 'Danger List' saying that structures are being constructed against the standards in the World Heritage Site of Kathmandu.
On March 20, the Department of Archeology had sent a letter to the Kathmandu Metropolitan Corporation, requesting that development begins without consultation with the department. Local and heritage conservationists have opposed the plan. The metropolis, on the other hand, has built a concrete structure to hoist eight flags overnight, deceiving everyone.
