Dhulikhel Trauma Center to launch soon, Health Minister Basnet

Minister for Health and Population Mohan Bahadur Basnet said that a Trauma Centre would come into operation at Dhulikhel Hospital very soon.

Inaugurating the second international conference organized by the Dhulikhel Hospital and a group of Nepali and German obstetrics and gynecologists today, Minister Basnet said that the government of Nepal had already approved the financial assistance from the foreign donor agencies for the Trauma Centre and the Centre would be started very soon.

The Centre is near Arniko Highway and BP Highway.

Minister Basnet lauded the Hospital, a community service-oriented health facility, for providing easy, accessible and quality services to the poor, helpless and underprivileged citizens.

He suggested that whoever wants to run a community-oriented hospital should come and visit the Dhulikhel Hospital and said that the government could implement the good practices of the Dhulikhel Hospital in other public health facilities.

Similarly, Dhulikhel Hospital executive director Dr Ram Kantha Makaju Shrestha said that the Hospital had been providing quality healthcare services to the general public as well as community service-oriented healthcare services.

He said that besides providing quality services for the common citizens, they have been providing health services through time-based services.

Gynecologist Prof Dr Sumanraj Tamrakar expressed his confidence that the conference would be helpful in the campaign of making Nepali women healthy as well as to take a new leap in the treatment of gynecological and obstetrical diseases.

During the conference, participants had deliberated, shared experiences and exchanged knowledge on women's reproductive health related issues such as infertility, menopause, congenital uterine anomalies, health complications during pregnancy, excessive bleeding and abnormal menstruation and delivery, among others.
