DPM Shrestha's health updates: DPM fully conscious with stable vital signs

The health condition of Deputy Prime Minister and Home Minister, Narayan Kaji Shrestha, is normal.

Issuing a statement this afternoon, Peking Union Medical College Hospital, Beijing, shared, "Deputy Prime Minister Shrestha is fully conscious with stable vital signs." DPM Shrestha is currently in the medical ICU for ongoing monitoring and treatment.

"On the early morning today, Shrestha presented to the Emergency Room of the International Medical Services at Peking Union Medical College Hospital with complaints of chest discomfort last for two hours. He was diagnosed with acute myocardial infarction and was immediately taken to the Cath lab. Emergency coronary angiography showed an occlusion in the obtuse marginal branch and significant stenosis in the left anterior descending artery. A stent was promptly placed in the obtuse marginal branch, alleviating his chest pain," reads the statement.

DPM Shrestha, who is in Beijing of China to participate in Third Belt and Road Forum for International Cooperation, suffered acute myocardial infarction on Wednesday night.

High-ranking officials of Chinese government and Communist Party of China have directed the hospital administration to adopt advanced technology and to pay special attention in his treatment, it is said.

Nepali Ambassador to China, Bishnu Pukar Shrestha, visited DPM Shrestha and wished him a speedy recovery.

Ambassador Shrestha informed that the condition of DPM Shrestha is normal and he is able to talk.
