OPD fee increased from today

The OPD fee charged by doctors for examining patients has been increased from today.

The Nepal Medical Association (NMA), the umbrella organization of Nepalese doctors, and the Association of Private Health Institutions Nepal (AFIN), the umbrella organization of private hospital operators, have decided to increase OPD fees with effect from today.

It has been decided that the OPD fee can be charged from 420 to 940 depending on the experience and qualification of the doctor.

According to the new fee, MBBS BDS doctors with less than five years of experience will get Rs.420. MBBS and BDS doctors with more than five years of experience get Rs.515. Diploma level doctors can get Rs 590 if they have less than five years of experience and Rs 670 if they have more than five years of experience.

Similarly, doctors of MDMS MDS level will be allowed to charge 750 rupees OPD fee even if they have less than five years of experience. If the experience is more than five years, the doctor of that level can charge up to 800 rupees.

Similarly, DM MCH level doctors whose experience is less than five years will be charged Rs 880. Those above five years can get 940 rupees. Earlier, doctors of this level could get 825 rupees.

Similarly, the minimum salary of medical officers working in private hospitals will also increase from today.
