The risk of fire is increasing due to human negligence in Myagdi. It has been reported that the risk of forest fires has increased due to overgrazing, illegal hunting, and indiscriminate use of fire.

Om Bahadur Ghimire of Dhaulagiri rural municipality-7 said "Mountains that are dry due to lack of snow and rain have affected the temperature and have become the main concern for air pollution as well." Due to the lack of rain and snow, the mountains and forests have become dry which is directly related to forest fires.

But Divisional Forest Officer Manoj Ranabhat said that the cause of the fire in most places was due to human negligence.

Last year, two people from Malika Rural Municipality-5 Garja died in a forest fire. It is customary for shepherds to set fire to forests and fields so that good grass grows. Hunters use fire to drive away wild animals and birds.

According to Assistant Forest Officer Nar Bahadur Chhetri, a forest fire control network has been formed at the district and six municipal levels. Similarly, the Forest Division has also led community-based forest management programs, formation of forest fire control networks, facilitation of fire line construction, material support for fire control required by security agencies, preparedness and manpower mobilization in coordination with security agencies, forest user groups, local levels, and stakeholders.
