Vehicle vandalism is a problem in waste management

Last night, vehicles used for waste management, in Kathmandu Valley were vandalized. Two dozers and one excavator from Kathmandu Metropolitan City, being used for waste management at the Bancharedanda sanitary landfill site, long with a vehicle carrying garbage from Kathmandu, were parked near Aletar and then vandalized.

Garbage management work in Kathmandu Valley has been affected today, due to vandalism. In order to get information about the incident, efforts are being made to collect debts from the locals and the police, while correspondence has been sent to the District Police Office Nuwakot and Dhading to send details of the damage, said Sarita Rai, head of Kampa Environment Department.

Chief Rai informed that among the vandalized vehicles and equipment, dozer and excavator used for capping and garbage collection were in an unusable state. Even before this, after the locals of the landfill site repeatedly obstructed, an 18-point agreement was made between Kampa and the locals. Rai also said that KAMPA is working in a phased manner according to the agreement.
