More than 2 lakh taxpayers have been added in the last three months in Nepal. Among them, the number of people taking Personal Permanent Account Numbers (PPN) is more.
According to the Ministry of Finance, there are 198,087 taxpayers who received local accounting numbers in the first quarter (July-August). Out of this, the number of people who have taken personal permanent account numbers is 148,773 people. During this period, 46,001 professional permanent account numbers have been issued. 3,313 PAN numbers have been issued for the purpose of advance tax deduction. During the period of three months, 4,718 new taxpayers have been added with 7,027 internal charges in value-added tax.
According to the Ministry's data, the number of taxpayers who have taken PAN numbers has now reached more than 5 million. According to the Personal Permanent Account Number Dayus, the number of taxpayers registered in PAN across the country has reached 31 lakh 99 thousand 77 people.
108,414 commercial account numbers have been issued. According to the Ministry of Finance, 21,407 PANs have been registered for the purpose of advance tax deduction. 298,838 PANs have been registered for value-added tax and 116,094 PANs for excise duty across the country.
