6,000 children vaccinated in Rukum

In Rukum (East), more than 6,000 children have been vaccinated against the coronavirus. Since the start of the vaccination campaign in the district, 6,216 children between 12 and 18 years have been vaccinated against the coronavirus.

According to Neem Prasad Giri, Corona Disease Control Focal Person of Health Office Rukum (East), the children have been vaccinated from the Health Office and a campaign conducted in different schools of the district.

2,450 children of Soma Sisne village and 2,054 children of Bhume village have been vaccinated for the first time. According to focal person Giri, 1,712 children of Puthauttarganga village have been vaccinated against the disease. According to him, the vaccination campaign was launched in the schools of Sisne and Bhume village municipalities in the district from December 21 to 25 and the vaccination campaign was carried out in the schools of Puthauttarganga village municipality from December 25 to 29.

The health office is still running a Moderna vaccination program. Before the start of the vaccination program, it was estimated that there were around 6,000 children in the age group of 12 years and above in the district, but more children in this age group were found, according to the health office.

Giri said that the number of vaccinated children has increased to 6,000 and more children are yet to be vaccinated. It is said that the moderna vaccination program will run till January 4 at the health office.
