Action against those violating election code of conduct

The Election Commission of Nepal (ECN) has initiated proceedings against 10 persons working in Makwanpur against the election code of conduct issued by the Election Commission for the local level election to be held on May 13. It is said that the action has been initiated after a written complaint was lodged in the office of the Chief Election Officer of Hetauda about the violation of the election code of conduct.

It is said that civil servants, teachers, parliamentarians and ministers are also involved in campaigning against the election code of conduct. Those who go against the code of conduct have been asked to explain in writing. Sagar Sharma, Assistant Returning Officer and Information Officer at the Office of the Chief Electoral Officer, Makwanpur, said that the MPs and ministers holding public office in different areas of Hetauda have been campaigning against the election code of conduct and campaigning for votes on social media. Gave.

He informed that after receiving their reply, they will be sent to the District Election Monitoring Committee for action. He said that employees working against the code of conduct would not be deployed in the election. In this regard, an all-party meeting was held on Monday on the call of Chief District Officer of Makwanpur Bharatmani Pandey to abide by the election code of conduct.

Representatives of all parties participating in the meeting expressed their commitment to abide by the code of conduct. He said that action would be taken against the teachers and staffs and those holding public office for violating the code of conduct and influencing the voters.
