The Tikapur municipality of Kailali has established a children's fund for the protection of children and their rights and well-being.

The fund will be used to provide emergency rescue and support services to children in the event of disaster and epidemic.

The Children's Welfare Association Tikapur has contributed Rs 100,000 to the fund, while the municipality has collected Rs 70,000.

The head of the Women, Children and Social Welfare Unit of the municipality, Sangeeta Shah, says that the municipality will increase the amount in the fund in the coming days. Those who work in the field of children can also deposit money in the fund.

According to Children's Act, 2075 BS, children's funds should be established at the local level for child welfare.

The municipality is also started working to meet 51 different indicators including education, health, child protection and rescue, and vital registration to declare the local level as a child-friendly municipality.

It may be noted that the federal government has set a goal of making all local levels child-friendly by 2030.
