The District Administration Office here has urged one and all not to make the celebration of haritalika teej prodigal. The DAO issued such notice in the wake of impending teej festival, celebrated especially by Nepali Hindu women.

Various extravagant events are organized to celebrate the teej festival for some years, the DAO said, urging everyone not to repeat such activities.

The district people are however requested to protect and promote the original culture and socio-cultural functions. If the festivals are observed in an extravagant manner, thereby breaching the rule, it would be subjected to punishment, the notice stated.

The DAO has also made aware the political parties, civil society, professional organizations, media persons, and women networks to this regard.
