PM Dahal releases book titled 'Roads to Valley'

Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal released a book titled 'Roads to Valley' about Sardar Preet Singh who is credited with bringing vehicles into Kathmandu valley.

At a programme held on monday, Prime Minister Dahal released the book written by Singh's daughter Kirandeep Sindhu.

On the occasion, the Prime Minister said that Singh's contribution was unparalleled not only in the field of transportation but also in social services and education.

Prime Minister Dahal also lauded Singh's contribution in the protection and promotion of the Sikh community in Nepal. Stating that Singh's contribution to expand the relationship between Nepal and India at the people-to-people level is unique and historic, he said "my family is indebted to his support.”

This book penned by his daughter based on his life will be more helpful in understanding Nepal-India relations, he added.

Nepali Congress General Minister Gagan Thapa said that the book would be helpful in informing Nepali people about Singh's contribution.

Addressing the program, Indian Ambassador to Nepal Naveen Srivastava expressed his happiness over the publication of a book about an important personality who started commercial transport in Nepal. Singh's contribution is incomparable to his support in the field of education by establishing the Modern Indian School in Kathmandu.
