The Public Procurement Monitoring Office (PPMO) is to operate a 'Procurement Clinic'.

Secretary at the Office Dr Damodar Regmi told RSS, the National News Agency, that the 'procurement clinic interactive programme' is being run wherein the participants will express about the challenges that come up regarding public procurement issues and the experts will tell them about the ways of resolving the problems.

"Procurement clinics will be operated soon for the employees of the local level and the province level as well as the procurement clinic is a successful international practice and the capacity of the human resources involved in the procurement job can be developed through this method," said Secretary Regmi.

The Office is also preparing to develop a general guideline on public procurement so as to simplify the issues related to the public procurement process which in itself is a technical issue and its laws are complex. The simple guideline will be prepared as promptly as possible for resolving problems related to public procurement faced by the provincial and local level offices as well, besides those faced by federal offices.

Secretary Regmi further added that intensive training on e-procurement would also be held for enhancing the public procurement capacity of the local and provincial governments.
