Sagarmatha Day Marked in Islamabad

The Embassy of Nepal in Pakistan organized a programme at the presence of mountaineers, mountaineering officials, journalists and friends of Nepal on the occasion of 70th anniversary of successful ascent to Mt Everest, and International Sagarmatha Day, 2023.

During the event, Nepal's Ambassador to Pakistan Tapas Adhikari shed lights on the importance of Sagarmatha Day and added that the first successful ascent to the world's tallest peak was a new turning in the area of mountaineering.

Likewise, Ambassador Adhikari shared about the Nepal government's policies and programme on mountaineering and tourism.

Ambassador Adhikari also congratulated Pakistan's mountaineer Naila Kiani and Sajid Ali Sadpara for successfully scaling Mt Everest and also wished for success in their journey to mountaineering.

Furthermore, Ambassador Adhikari handed over the certificate to Naila Kiani and Sajid Ali Sadpara issued from the Department of Tourism, the Embassy stated.
