Search and rescue operations continue

Search and rescue teams of the Nepali Army have been mobilized in the affected areas immediately after the 6.4 Richter scale earthquake with its epicenter at Barikot Rural Municipality, Ramidanda of Jajarkot district. The forces deployed in Jajarkot and West Rukum are continuing search and rescue operations in collaboration with other security agencies and locals. The deployed forces are working to recover the bodies of the dead as well as the injured and send them to the hospital.

In addition, teams with doctors and medical supplies have been kept on standby in Kathmandu, Surkhet and Nepalgunj for further relief work and a team of doctors are on standby at Army Hospital Nepalgunj and Birendra Hospital cantonment for further treatment of the injured.

16 people including 3 doctors from NA-057 MI helicopter to Kathmandu-Chaurjahari, 16 people from NA-016064 Sky Truck, Kathmandu to Chaurjahari, 3 people from NA-061 BELL helicopter to Surkhet Lamidanda, NA-038 MI helicopter from Kathmandu to carry out search and rescue operations in earthquake affected districts. Troops including 26 medical teams have been mobilized in Chaurjahari.

The deployed forces have continued the search and rescue operation in cooperation with other security agencies and locals.
