More than 100,000 voters added to Sunsari voting list

113,606 voters have been added in Sunsari district.

Ajay Mishra, Information Officer at the District Election Office, Sunsari, said that 534,765 people from Sunsari will be able to cast their votes in the local level election to be held on April 12. In the local level election-2074 BS, there were 421,159 voters in Sunsari. The Election Commission had postponed the voter list compilation from the day after the government announced the date of local elections on January 8.

The highest number of voters in Sunsari is in the Itahari sub-metropolis while the lowest number of voters is in Barju village, said Information Officer Mishra. Out of the 12 municipalities of Sunsari, Dharan Municipality has 79,282 voters in the local level election-2074 BS. There are more women than men among them. There are 47,408 male and 52,916 female voters in Dharan. The municipality with the highest number of voters in Sunsari district has become Itahari sub-metropolis this time. Out of 77,677 voters in the local level election-2074 BS, now 26,949 voters have been added and the total number is 104, 626 voters. Itahari also has more female voters than male voters. According to the District Election Office, Sunsari, there are 49,925 male and 54,700 female voters in Itahari.

Similarly, the number of voters in Inaruwa Municipality has increased from 36,145 in 2074 BS to 42,448 now. Of them, 22,092 are males and 20,656 are females. Similarly, in the local level election-2074 BS, there were 30,672 voters in Duhabi municipality but now there are 36,730 voters. Of them, 19,200 are males and 17,530 are females. In Barah Constituency Municipality, there were 47,398 voters in 2074 BS but now there are 63,608 voters. Baraha constituency also has more female voters than male voters. According to the District Election Office, Sunsari, there are 31,429 male and 32,179 female voters in Barah constituency.

According to the office, there were 30,356 voters in Ramdhuni Municipality in the local level election-2074 BS but now there are 41,478 voters. Of them, 20,103 are males and 21,374 are females. In Koshi village municipality, there were 22,430 voters in 2074 BS but now there are 26,466 voters. Of them, 14,691 are males and 11,775 are females. In 2074 BS, there were 19,646 voters in Gadhi village municipality but now it has reached 23,817. Of them, 12,398 are males and 11,419 are females. Similarly, there were 19,545 voters in Dewanganj village municipality in 2074 BS but now there are 23,578 voters. Of them, 12,788 are males and 10,790 are females. There were 18,564 voters in Barju village municipality in 2074 BS and now there are 22,467 voters including 11,881 male and 10,586 female voters.

In Bhokraha Narasimha village municipality, there were 18,883 voters in 2074 BS and now there are 24,101 voters. Of them, 13,450 are males and 10,651 are females. Similarly, in Harinagar village municipality there were 20,561 voters in 2074 BS but now there are 24,822 voters. Of them, 13,781 are men and 11,041 are women, according to the office.

In the upcoming local elections in the district, one person from Itahari sub-metropolitan municipality and one person from Ramdhuni municipality will also cast their votes, said Information Officer Mishra. According to him, there will be 166 polling stations and 581 polling booths in the district in the local level election to be held on April 12, according to the District Election Office, Sunsari.

In the upcoming local level election, 107 polling stations will be held in Dharan, 111 in Itahari, 47 in Inaruwa, 42 in Duhabi, 67 in Barakhshetra, 44 in Ramdhuni, 29 in Koshi, 27 in Gadhi, 26 in Dewanganj, 25 in Barju, 28 in Bhokraha Narasimha and 28 in Harinagar, Information Officer of Sunsari Mishra said.
